Loved it very interesting

The book continued right where it left off pretty much. You get to understand more of the character depth of the dog Sylis the earth mage dragon rider Trekan and Dax who bonded mate Female dragon Drakthira. I think I got spelling close can't remember. I was very happy to learn love she and Dax shared and hope there can be more. Also really can't wait for next book the adventure interesting. When I was listening to it at parts I was like why couldn't she go comfort her bond mate but she just stayed in shadows. I also gotta remember she just a hatchling until like 6 months of age for her. At least she and Dax will never die since they bonded hopefully. It also be nice if there can be some scenes of Drakthira and Dax showing there comfort and love to each other by like her curling around Dax and holding him tightly to her belly that very warm and protecting him from evil of the night that may be there seeking to eat him. Dax should also hug her tightly with love and maybe they could kiss since they bonded and share love like no other. Also the Myste is very interesting, we learn more about it history during this book to.

Good Follow up

I got lucky enough to get to Beta read this novel :) This was my first beta read and I loved it because I was able to give feedback before the book got released, I felt important, lol. That being said I gladly accepted this book having loved the first one in the series. This book is a perfect continuation of the story and we grew to know more about the main characters. I love the dog, I know shocker, but Sylas was an interesting and a very original character. However at times the story dragged as it was just them wandering which slowed the story down and didn't hold my interest as well. That being said if you love dragon novels this one you are sure to enjoy.

Very enjoyable read.

The fantasy adventure continues from Book 1 in the Dragons of Daegonlot series and follows the characters that were introduced in Dragon Orb as they struggle to navigate the strange Myste world they’ve entered to continue their quest. They must fight to overcome the shape-shifting creatures that dwell within the Myste who seek to feed from them. I enjoyed the book, and the highlight for me was the creative imagination of the author who has worked hard to dream up a fantasy world with fantastic characters. Looking forward to the next book.

Wells also had an impressive collection of volumes of poetry by others. She bequeathed her collection of Walt Whitman poetry, said to be one of the most important of its kind for its completeness and rarity, to the Library of Congress. After finishing school she worked as a librarian for the Rahway Library Association. Her first book, At the Sign of the Sphinx (1896), was a collection of charades. Her next publications were The Jingle Book and The Story of Betty (1899), followed by a book of verse entitled Idle Idyls (1900). After 1900, Wells wrote numerous novels and collections of poetry. Carolyn Wells wrote a total of more than 170 books. During the first ten years of her career, she concentrated on poetry, humor and children's books. According to her autobiography, The Rest of My Life (1937), it was around 1910 that she heard one of Anna Katherine Green's mystery novels being read aloud and was immediately captivated by the unravelling of the puzzle. Like old children's (girl) lit? It's a good pick.

I love the Patty series by Carolyn Wells - it's light and entertaining. Perfect for anyone who enjoys old girls literature from the beginning of the last century. One of the better of the Patty books, but not my favorite, so I'll give it four stars.

Can the most famous playwright of all time come up with the right words to unite Darcy and Elizabeth?

What do you get when Elizabeth Bennet, faithful friend and literary advisor-of-sorts to William Shakespeare, finds herself working as a blacksmith and “moonlighting” as a gentlewoman when she meets the proud and gruff William Darcy, a gentleman who has just left France to find himself an estate in England? Dear readers, you find yourself reading a mash-up between the book “Pride and Prejudice,” and the movies “Shakespeare in Love,” and “Ever After.”

As we go back nearly 200 years ago in time from where Austen’s own “Pride and Prejudice” initially takes place, we find ourselves surrounded by a cast of characters who have been reimagined in this tale of love, loss, and literature. Michelle M. has cleverly crafted a “Pride and Prejudice” mash-up that reads like a romantic tale that Shakespeare himself would’ve appreciated for its tongue-in-cheek humor, it’s inclusion of several generations of family members combined with its lessons of repentance, forgiveness, and restitution.

I love describing this story as a reimagining because here we truly have the Bennet family, along with Darcy and Bingley’s circumstances, quite reimagined within this context. The Bennet family has suffered a traumatic event in their lives, leaving Mr. and Mrs. Bennet struggling to maintain their family business. Therefore, we find them in an even more reduced situation than in Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice.” Since Elizabeth, their most clever and industrious daughter is willing to work as a blacksmith within the family business, the family relies on her hard work, along with Kitty and Jane’s occupations, to help keep them afloat. The afterword of this story has a good explanation about why this occupational choice has been made for Elizabeth.

Elizabeth’s close bond and long-standing friendship with the playwright, William Shakespeare, serves as a source of companionship and inspiration for both of them. Shakespeare, a newly recognized gentleman in an unhappy marriage, whose wife lives primarily in the country, spends his time writing and sharing his work with Elizabeth. Together, they are close confidantes struggling to find a happily-ever-after within their own lives.

In this reimagining, Charlotte Lucas, known here as Lady Charlotte Lucas, convinces her friends Elizabeth and Jane to dress above their stations to attend a ball with her. The ladies meet Bingley, Darcy, and Colonel Fitzwilliam and from here, the story begins to loosely take the shape of Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice. Darcy and Elizabeth banter their way through numerous misunderstandings, as Michelle M. creatively incorporates Shakespeare’s own famous lines into their dialogue. She handles this in a manner that is very accessible and entertaining for readers while also having each chapter aptly named after a different work by Shakespeare. It’s amusing to see chapters named as “Merry Wives of Windsor” and “Taming of the Shrew” put to good use to help navigate the reader through this story.

The narration of the text is mainly told from Elizabeth’s point of view, with parts also told from Darcy’s point of view. I loved when Elizabeth would stop to speak directly to the reader and offer further clarification on her perspective. I felt this added a special connection between Elizabeth and the reader. Michelle M.’s use of Early Modern English throughout the story creates a reimagining infused with Shakespeare’s spirit and style while at the same time she cleverly mixes several lines from own Austen’s story. The surprise is in where and how she uses Austen’s phrases to bring alive a story that varies greatly from Austen’s version while at the same time retaining her characters and timeless themes.

Shakespearean Jane Austen!

It is a courageous contemporary author who sets a book in the 16th century and presents it in the writing style of that era, which is what you'll find here. Most of the time she is successful. I have to say that some pages seemed to use "you" and "your" more than "thou" and "thy" - but I'm no literary scholar, so generally it all matched up pretty well from my perspective.

Even more courageous, however, is to merge this with the authentic writings of the Bard. If you like Shakespeare, you can't help but enjoy Elizabeth and Darcy bantering back and forth with lines from his famous plays in this very loose variation of Pride and Prejudice. The story features women dressing like men. The chapter titles are even courtesy of Shakespeare.

In this re-imagining, Lady Charlotte Lucas is a member of the gentry while Elizabeth and her family are commoners. Elizabeth is a blacksmith, Kitty is a woodcutter (hence they both wear men's clothing) and Jane is a seamstress. Mary is in a nunnery, and Lydia is already married to the nefarious George Wickham. The Globe Theater is about to open, and Charlotte and her good friend Elizabeth sneak out to the premiere to see "Julius Caesar" and their good friend William Shakespeare. Later, when Charlotte is to attend a ball, she convinces Elizabeth and Jane to dress as noblewomen and come with her, where Darcy, predictably, snubs Elizabeth and the Pride and Prejudice part of the story takes over. As the story proceeds, Shakespeare weaves in and out of the tale and is instrumental in bringing about the happy ending in a chapter fittingly entitled "Love's Labors Won."

Such a clever concept, and I found it a delight to read.

Another good little Sweet Valley book

Ken Matthews is used to girls like Amy Sutton and Jessica Wakefield fawning all over him. He doesn't notice Terri Adams who helps with football team. Ken gets into an accident that leaves him blind and unable to be the football star that he's used to being. Everyone treats him differently, even his supposed girlfriend, Amy. Terri is the only one who sees him for who he is. This is a good little Sweet Valley book. I also like the fact that it proves what a phony Amy Sutton is. Beautiful blonde cheerleaders don't always make the perfect girlfriends!

This book was about a quarterback who gets in a car accident and becomes blind. A girl who doesn't know him that well, but has a crush on him, becomes his friend. He develops feelings for her. Do they become a couple? Will he ever see again? I guess you will have to read the book.

Cute little book

Highschool, football player Ken Matthews is in a carwreck which causes him to go blind. He notices that his girlfriend, Amy Sutton never comes around anymore to say "hi" now that he is blind, so he quickly realizes how phoney she is.
A girl named Terri becomes Ken's friend after Amy leaves him. She helps him with everything, and before long they become a couple.
At the very end of the book Ken's sight begins to return.
