Olympia: A psychopath in the Senate

This book was difficult to put down. It described the characters so well that you either despised the person or cared deeply for her/him. Every reader who enjoys a fast moving plot with a political and law setting will love reading this book. It is better written than most of the well-known mystery writers I have read in the last two years. I highly recommend this book to all novel readers.

Hard to put down,a great read.Interesting characters,well depicted lead to a story that is intriguing,and evolving in surprising ways.The ending can be guessed,but the road to that ending is thoroughly engrossing.A good choice for my book club.

Good read

An enjoyable and easy read. At the start of college, Cory develops strong ties with 2 hot-looking and interesting guys in her life, one being a fellow student called Samson, and the other her flight instructor Cole. There is no love triangle and there is no cheating involved, although there is definitely a magnetic friendship with Samson and chemistry with Cole too. This novel differs from many other YA books in the fact that Cory is going to aviation school and for once her roommate is a devout Christian instead of the usual party-going girl. Also the choice of her major is quite original, being a pilot is her lifelong dream. It was really entertaining to read about her first steps in aviation and the procedures of the aviation fraternity. I instantly liked Cory, her no-nonsense attitude, her adorable clumsiness, and the fact that she’s not stuck-up, like Adeline, at all. With two boys vying for her attention, and Cory who feels good with both of them, you can’t be surprised that drama and heartbreak is inevitable. But who’s heart will be broken, will it be Cory’s perhaps? You’ll have to read to find out! I really liked the ending too, it leaves a small window open for possible change in the sequel.

This is going to drive me crazy!

What can I say about Taking Flight, by Colleen Young......

This is a hard review to write.

This was a good read. I really enjoyed the story line, and it was easy to follow and easy to picture the characters. I read it in a day and a half, I simply couldn't put it down. But, when it got towards the end the main character was finally going to choose which man she wanted to be with.
So I thought......

The ending was very confusing.

Did I miss something?

Why would she stop there?

These are the things I was asking myself, I even went back to the beginning and then back to the end of the book. It just didn't make sense.

All I can say is I hope there is a sequel or continuation of these characters in the second book, because there was no clear ending for me. If she does write a sequel to this one I would definitely read it to get some closure.

This is going to drive me crazy.

Interesting YA story

Cory is entering a male-dominated career in aviation. It's an interesting story, and a page-turner. Some of the dialogue seemed a little formal, rather than using contractions, but it didn't take away from the story. It was clean and fun to read. I liked how she was not only attracted to two men, but there was chemistry with both of them. This was not an adulterated love affair. It was a great journey into young love and how Cory finds herself. I really enjoyed the story and will definitely read the next book.

An all encompassing boating book for a great price

Since I'm a casual boater, and often forget such things as who has the right-of-way and what a particular buoy symbol means, I found this book answers all of my questions and is laid out so that I can find out what I want quickly. It is amazing how much information is packed in this pocket sized book. When the fish aren't biting, this book is a great read for learning more about such things as knot tying, navigation, weather, etc. The book caters to all levels of boating expertise, and for the price, there is no reason not to have it onboard. A MUST HAVE GEM!

What a little gem of a book! A must have for every boat on the water! Tom has thought of everything and this little boat book has it all! Thank you Tom, this book will save a life, whether you are in a crisis or your wallet has been lost at sea -- Tom has all the information you need for every situation imagined. Both, my semi-pro fisherman husband, Mike and I love it!

Every boat should come with one of these.

Small pocket size reference manual that includes a whole lot of important boating information. This has kept me from looking like a newb many times. Comprehensive and lots of drawings and charts to help out. I have dog eared and tagged mine for the most used information.

My work has me maintaining shipboard electronics all over the country and on many types of vessels, this book has helped with everything big and small. I use this book to remind of the frequencies for VHF Marine radios. Buoy markers and signage, as well as the rules of the road while on a vessel.

Covers commercial as well as pleasure craft, motorboats and sailboats.

A color section shows signage and buoy markers as well as flags.

Some information such as GPS equipment are technically correct but older models that have been discontinued are shown in the pictures. The concepts are still valid, so I did not mark the book down for this.

Nice Ending to an Original Series

When I first started reading Kelly Carrero’s Unearthly Paradox, I started in the middle. I liked it so much that I stopped reading the book so I could start at the beginning... it was worthwhile to do so, I wouldn’t have wanted to miss any of it. I enjoyed the series, and am sorry to see it come to an end. There is, however, hope that it is only a temporary end.

I recommend this book and this series. It’s my belief that the content is more for those on the older end of the YA spectrum.

Mike Mitchell Mike has taught religion and business courses for over 20 years. He is an author of several books and magazine articles. After graduation from the U.S. Air Force Academy, Mike enjoyed a successful career as a pilot, an international affairs specialist, and International Logistics officer for the U.S. Air Force. In addition to a B.S. degree in International Affairs, he holds a Master of Science in Systems Management from USC, a Master of Arts in National Security Affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School and is presently a PhD candidate with the International School of Management, Paris, France. Past responsibilities include Instructor Pilot, Assistant Executive Officer to the Chief of the Air Force Reserve at the Pentagon, and diplomatic assignments in Argentina, Central America, and Spain. He has led commercial organizations as a Regional Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and as de-facto President. He has led large government and commercial organizations and managed budgets from $2 million to $75 million to $2.4 billion. Mike co-founded INTERACTIVE SCHOOL OF LEARNING in 2006.
