About the Author
J. R. Rauschert lives in Watertown Township in a rural section of greater Lansing. His wonderful wife and their four-legged family tolerate his strange and off-key singing, vociferous support for MSU Spartan athletics, and too-loud snoring that keeps everyone awake. A veteran educator in alternative schools, J. R. is writing a series of novels set in the fictional Forest County.

Pains are not only in the window

“Window Pains” by J. R. Rauschert could just as well have been entitled, “The Saga of Alain’s Dysfunctional, Tragic Life.” Alain was raised by a dysfunctional family where love was absent and secrets were kept that he only learned of later in life. The biggest question of relevance for him was, “Why?”
Every aspect of his life was rife with tragedy and dysfunction—his family, Viet Nam, love lives, and especially his job where lies, dysfunction, deceit, and intrigue reigned supreme. Overwhelmed and distraught, how does Alain handle his problems. He has numerous options. Which one does he take?
If you like a complex, interwoven plot with lots of twists and turns, you'll love "Window Pains."

Delightful build up of characters and plot that made me feel like I could be part of the story. I think Window Pains gives us a bit of a look at the authors life and soul. Perfect one night read.

Hooked at page 2 and drawn through book. To me the most important part of any story are the characters. His characters are a bit flawed (as we all are) and he makes you want them to do well.
