Great, if you know basically nothing about it

This is extremely bare bones, and extremely basic. If you've ever looked into weightlifting and read an article or looked at a bodybuilding magazine, you've seen everything in this book. It doesn't go very in depth, shows zero exercises, and doesn't even give any sort of food recipes... which is odd.
I was expecting much, much more. This may be good for someone who is very, very new to the whole thing, and has done basically zero research on weightlifting, or exercising and dieting in general. Still, they'll need other material, because this is almost too basic even for a new person.

Not a bad book for the novice bodybuilder!!!!

I have always been interested in bodybuilding and nutrition. So when I bumped into this book I was easily intrigued. Its not a very big book and it will not turn you into a bodybuilder. It WILL get you started on your journey though. It i filled with some very good food choices and breaks down a novice approach to fitness, nutrition and building muscle. It has some very good food choices, meal timing and workout instructions. Although I think i "know" what I should be eating, it is always good to look at books such as this to get a better of understanding and know WHY you are doing it. The book is written in a very "user friendly" manner so that just about anyone can comprehend what is going on. I too, like other reviewers said, expected a greater abundance of content. If you want to know anything and everything you will ever wan to know about bodybuilding, pick up a copy of Arnold Schwarzenegger's "The New Encyclopedia Of Modern Bodybuilding." Good beginners book for those novices on bodybuilding diets and healthy diet knowledge

A small book with good advice, although basic, but still helpful for any novice who is interested to build muscles by training and diet. There is information about the right amount of protein, fats and carbs that should be consumed daily in order to reach a balanced diet. You will also find good information on food ingredients substitutes for a better healthy intake.
This is a basic book, further information and research should be done by any reader in order to complete whatever areas of interest, like proper diets, exercise routines, cooking recipes, etc. Anyway, this book contains basic concepts and also a calorie guide for a balanced intake.
This book is written in a friendly way, in a good format on which you can easily read and understand what the author describes and proposes.
